Sephora X Girlfriends Meetup

Joined in the fun to An Iconic Lip Moment with Sephora at Sephora ION Orchard with my girlfriends on an early Sunday morning (2nd of July), where we got invited to participate in the record-breaking moment of having the most number of people applying a lip mask simultaneously. Light refreshments were also provided to us before the event starts.

Settled lunch at The Marmalade Pantry at ION Orchard. The Truffles Fries there was good! The sofa seats were comfortable too. Then, head down to Downtown Gallery for an event as well as catching up with Jasmine and her family.

[Media Invite] Singapore’s Longest Fruit Mosaic

Been away for way too long.. so allow me to backtrack a little here.. Went Downtown Gallery for an invited event some time ago (2nd of July) with my girlfriends to witness a record-breaking attempt. In celebration of International Fruits Festival, this attempt was made to set a record for Singapore’s Longest Fruit Mosaic and is done by close to 80 recent graduates from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic. The massive 200-metres-long fruit mosaic creation were stretched along the entire length of Downtown Gallery, using a mix of red and green apples, lemons and oranges, forming vibrant colours on the road.

Following the event, the fruits are cleaned, repackaged and donated to communities in need, including Kampong Chai Chee Community Club, Bishan Community Club and Hougang Sheng Hong Family Service Centre.

In addition to watching the youths work on the mosaic, the public also joined a part of the record attempt by working on a section of the mosaic designated for the public. Fruit-themed pop-ups were set up by juice bar FRESHE, lifestyle and fitness app GuavaLabs, frozen natural yoghurt store smöoy and gourmet grocer and café THE PROVIDORE at Downtown Gallery Level 1. Complimentary juices, guavas, toppings and ice cream sandwiches were given out to the first 100 consumers who quote “Singapore’s Longest Fruit Mosaic” at any of the pop-ups, making it interesting and fun.

“It’s wonderful to witness an effort by our youths and community, led by Downtown Gallery, to create a new Singapore record,” said Patrina Tan, Senior Vice President of Retail, Marketing and Leasing of OUE Limited. “Downtown Gallery is designed as a place for people to commune, and this local record attempt not only offers consumers a bit of fun and entertainment over the weekend, but is also bringing our youths, families and communities together.”

In line with the URA’s long-term plans of transforming the Downtown Core area into a work-live-play environment, OUE Downtown has undergone major transformation to bring to life the three pillars of ‘Look Well’, ‘Keep Well’ and ‘Eat Well’ within the development. Singapore’s Longest Fruit Mosaic will be the first in a series of themed events and experiences hosted at the new Downtown Gallery to connect with and engage the community.

[Movie Review]《荡寇风云》GOD OF WAR

which will be released in cinemas on 1st of June!

The movie brings us all the way back to the 16th century where the Chinese army fought hard against the Japanese Wokou Pirates. In 1557, the pirates take over Cengang in Zhejiang. After months of futile advances, Commander Yu (Sammo Hung) finally defeats them under the leadership of newly promoted General Qi (Vincent Zhao). The battle was intense. The pirates, however, manage to escape.

No sooner has Qi identified the key weakness of the Chinese army than he starts remapping the coastal regions to eradicate the pirates. He also came across the loyal and courageous villagers of Yiwu and drafted them into his own army which soon becomes a formidable force against the pirates, with tactics developed specifically against them.

In 1561, the pirates regroup and once again attack the coastal cities of China. With both the cities of Xinhe and Taizhou under attack, Qi's army is caught between two fires. Even though most family members of his soldiers are located in Xinhe, Qi makes the tough decision to go to Taizhou and leaves his wife (Wan Qian) in charge of the fight against the pirates in Xinhe, knowing that the defeat of the pirates’ elite team in Taizhou will bring long lasting peace to the coastal cities.

It was a good 2 hours war show for my friends, partner and myself. I find that the movie is able to capture viewers' attention throughout the entire screening with its smart moves and tactics, exciting actions, never seen before weapons, as well as a storyline so well-crafted. There were also a good sense of humor in between and some life values being shared in the movie. Overall and in my opinion, definitely a movie worth the watch!

Clozette Tea Party 2017

Joined Poppy to Clozette Tea Party last Saturday which held at Nigiro Cafe, Esplanade Mall. Love the colour theme and love seeing everyone dressed up according to the theme; White, Pink, or Black. It was so much fun going from booth to booth, checking out all the lovely items!

Meitu smartphone, running on Android, is said to provide user the perfect selfie, every time. Hence, we gave it a try. However, it is currently available only in China.
