SENTOSA HONOURS SINGAPORE’S EVERYDAY HEROES
Living in this busy lifestyle, no doubt we often neglect showing appreciation to our loved ones, especially our parents.. The Fun Movement - a campaign to remind us to be thankful for our loved ones, to seek and reward inspiring everyday heroes who have put aside the pursuit of personal fun and enjoyment to bring joy to the lives of others, and give them a surprise well-deserved retreat, to give them a break and enjoy a day of fun!
Last month, residents in Singapore nominated their personal heroes by logging on to Sentosa’s website, or by visiting one of The Fun Movement’s nomination booths located in Nex Mall and Temasek Polytechnic. Sentosa will select and feature 20 of the most inspiring stories on www.sentosa.com.sg/funmovement from 3rd July. Of which, five entries who receive the highest number of the public’s votes which starts from 3rd to 16th July, will get to enjoy a surprise, personalized day of fun in Sentosa.
The Fun Movement was launched with the release of two heart-warming videos featuring a hardworking cab driver Hui Chee Wan, 51 and a dedicated nurse Indra S.M. Theva, 41. Each were given a personalized surprise day in Sentosa spent in the company of their family and friends.
Says Susan Ang, Divisional Director of Sentosa Development Corporation’s Island Investment and Branding team, “This initiative to strengthen Sentosa’s connection with Singaporeans also ties in with our island resort’s SG50 celebrations. We hope to recognise the dedication and spirit of everyday Singaporeans who, in their own ways, have contributed to the growth and development of Singapore.”
