Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM) celebrates World's Kindness Day

On 8 November, 2015, diners at Singapore's iconic hawker centre, Lau Pa Sat, were surpised by some 25 participants gathered together and put up an energetic display to celebrate World's Kindness Day!

A movement jointly organised by the Singapore Kindness Movement and Life Vest Inside, to remind the people around to always be kind. These joyful participants kick start the celebration by keeping on beat to the same dance and song with thousands of others across 46 global cities; the 4th Annual Dance for Kindness Worldwide Flashmob!

Jasmine and i were having our dinner there that evening.. :)

It started off with some participants position themselves in freeze mode depicting acts of kindness to raise awareness of what kindness looks like, and the opportunities for acts of kindness that surround us.

And as soon as the music was heard, all participants began to dance along and finished off by cheering "Happy World's Kindness Day!". The crowd at Lau Pa Sa applauded, showing appreciation to the participants as well as the organisers. A unique dining experience indeed.

Also, for the first time, people from around the world were able to watch the Dance for Kindness event using Periscope, a live video streaming app, which broadcasted snippets of the action from the flashmob locations across 28 countries, via the #DFK2015 hashtag.
